4 Months

Smile Smile Smile-I'm pretty sure I may have one of the most smiley babies ever.  She loves to smile.  The best is when we are out and she smiles at me and then having strangers see her.  Makes me a proud momma. ;)  She just is such a happy baby (most of the time)!
Rolls over Front to Back-She has started to roll over but only from her tummy to her back.  Really....it's more of a flop over but I'll take it!  She mostly does that because she doesn't like being on her tummy as much (although, that is changing).
Belly Laughs-We can get her to laugh pretty easy, as you've seen in some of the video posts, but they're becoming deeper laughs...ya know, the ones from deep in the belly.  They're the best!
Sticks out Tongue-She's discovered how to stick out her tongue and she does it just about every time she smiles.  I think it's just a phase as she was finding her tongue because she hasn't been sticking it out as much this last week.
Love to Suck on Her Fingers-She likes her paci but since she found her fingers they tend to be more popular.  She also starts talking a lot while she sucks on them.  It is also a sign her teeth are slowly on there way in.
Has a Killer Grip-I have claw marks on my arms and chest to prove it.  I swear she sharpens them when I'm not looking!
Loves Her Play Gym-She used to hate it but now I can play with her on the mat for like an hour and she loves every second of it.  It also wears her out and she gets tired, which is great!
Talks to Mommy in the Car-Not all the time but she gets pretty talkative while we are driving around running errands.  Sometimes we sing songs in the car, too!  Poor thing, she has to listen to my awful singing.  ;)

4 Months

sorry for the MIA-ness.  Kyle has been gone now for over two weeks now and it's been more difficult for me to sit down and blog!  But can you believe Ella is four months old?!?  She is growing like a weed...definitely filling in and looking like a baby.  ;)  We don't go to the doc until next week so I still don't have any new stats.  I just know she has changed so much in just these past two weeks that Kyle has been gone...he will be shocked!  Poor guy, I feel bad he misses out on so much.  Not for long though....we have some moving news that I'll fill you all in on as it becomes finalized.

Here's my little smiley pants at 4 months!

more 4 month pictures to come soon...

Just Talking Away

I took this video after a long day.  We first had fitmoms (workout class) in the morning, then we drove to Roseville for the day with Brittany and Paige.  We enjoyed some yummy Noodles & Company and some shopping.  Then, we drove back home and volunteered at the Fisher House on base followed by our usually dinner with Jill at Chipotle.  The poor little girl had been in her car seat on-the-go all day.  I couldn't wait to get home and just hold her.  After we got home and I fed her she just started talking like this for at least 30 minutes or so while I held her.  It was the first time she had really talked like that for so long.  It was adorable and I was so happy I was able to take the video.  She's such a sweet baby.

Headband Down

This was on Halloween, as you can tell by her outfit, Kyle was trying to get her to laugh but she was totally distracted by me and the camera.  I just love this video because she sees the camera and just looks right into it.  Also, the headband falling down over her face is a regular occurrence for Ella.  The poor little girl is probably going to hate that I put headbands on her.  In the car if I hear her fussing a bit I will pull down the shade on her car seat and sure enough, her headband is covering her eyes or over her face.  :)  Although, surprisingly, sometimes it doesn't even phase her.

IPhone Pic Friday (Saturday)

I forget how much hair she lost on top of her head that first month.  She looks like a balding man.  haha

Play Time

Ella is finally loving to play with her little jungle gym.  She especially loves the monkey and elephant. This day when I took these photos was one of the first times she really enjoyed it...that's why I got the camera out.  She was talking really loud and just having a good ol time.  There's quite a few pictures to look through, I just couldn't narrow them down any more.  :)

hanging out with her buddies...hands behind her head, of course.

she scratched her chin there during the night.

she just kept smiling at the lion...she would look away and then look back at the lion and get this huge grin on her face.

here she found herself in the mirror that's above her.

More Giggles

Well, she is giggling more and more but it's the best when I'm able to catch it on video.  My friend Jill was over and holding her and she just had something that kept tickling her tummy. She was laughing like crazy!  And to my family back home...she wore her Husker gear again out here in CA for the game.  :)

IPhone Pic Friday

Since I did not do an IPhone Pic Friday last week....here are three collages.

I love the pictures on the left when Kyle was holding her.  He had just gotten home from a mission and she seemed so happy in his arms.

These are some of my favorite IPhone pictures.  She was so alert and happy when I was taking these after church one day.

Ella

I was editing (like for 2 minutes because Ella is sleeping) a bit today and came up with this....

...and fell in love!  I've always thought black and white photos just capture something that colored photos can't.  I don't know how to describe it at all (mostly because I'm not a words person...like my mother) but there's just something.  I feel like you can read the image better in black and white, if that makes sense...??  But either way, here's my little sweetie!

Ella's Nursery

Welcome to Ella's Nursery.

My initial concept for the room was just pink, grey, and white but as I started collecting things for the room and building the room up in my head it basically became pink and white.  Like I said in a previous post, I never thought I would do such a girly room, but once we found out she was a girl...I was all about PINK!  Now, I do still have some grey accents.  Actually, the walls are a very very light grey but I pull in the grey with steel accents that you'll find in the wall collage.  Basically, I'm in love with her room....but not as in love with it as I am my precious baby girl.

There are still a few things I want to tweak.  I don't love all the frames I have for the wall collage...I'm hoping to stumble on something at HomeGoods or Hobby Lobby someday that will be perfect, but until then it will have to do the way it is.

Here it is, please enjoy!

the reading nook

lots of fun books to read

Ikea chair that I turned into a rocker/glider (more on this is a later post)

the perfect spot to read to ella

Ella letters I made for above the book wall

and here is the crib...my favorite.

Fell in love with the spindle style crib.  It's a bit shabby chic.

I found the most amazing pink fabric to make bows for the crib with.

Her sparkly mobile which I got the idea from Pinterest, of course.

don't you just love it?!

A picture from her angle.

The changing table.

the wall collage.

I love this antique frame I found...then decided to print a canvas for inside of it....I love it!

Here are SOME of her bows/flowers which I clipped in this frame I spray painted from goodwill.  Also, here is that headband storage project I worked on in a previous post.

stuffed animal by her changing pad

Here is the dresser I refinished....which I also love!  It turned out great in the room!

blankets and stuffed animals

I bought the big frame from Ikea and panted it pink (thanks Whitney)

These are from the shower...didn't want to throw these away.  They work perfect in her room!
her amazing rug...which I love as a backdrop for pictures....it serves for multiple purposes, right?! :)

So that's her nursery.  I may make some small changes here or there...if so I'll be sure to post.  Also, I may do a few posts of how I did some of the projects or I can let people know where I got things if they're interested.

see...the rug, perfect back drop!  Also, couldn't do a blog post without an adorable pic of my little girl!  :)
